Federal Marshals Fees Increase

On December 19, 2008 the US Marshals Service increased the fee for serving civil process. These services include, but are not limited to, serving writs, subpoenas, or
summonses, preparing notices or bills of sale, keeping attached property, and certain necessary travel. 28 U.S.C. 1921(a).

The change increases from $45.00 to $55.00 per service.  You may read more about this increase and why and how it was considered in the Federal Register here.
